RESERVATION OF NAME OF ORGANISATION
This application allows Organizations, Local or International, to request for approval to register the intended organisation name.
STEPS
- Fill in the online application form
- Upload all required documents
- Pay for your application
- Approval updates will be posted in your online profile as well as sent via SMS.
REASONS FOR REJECTING PROPOSED NAMES
- If the name is SIMILAR in entirety to an existing name except in instances where the organisation is sponsored by an existing organisation or chapter
- The name contains three initial words that are similar to an existing name
- If the name is similar to an existing government department or an existing and legally registered organisation
- If the name is derogatory or offensive to a particular community group of people or religion
- If the name suggests or makes reference to an intention to evangelise or propagate the faith
- The acronym is similar to an existing name or acronym in the register
- The shortened name might have a similarity to an existing acronym or name in the register
- The meaning of the name appears unclear except in instances where the organisation is registered elsewhere outside the country to carry out the work of an NGO
- Names that involve an amalgamation of names of individuals
- Names seeking to use the names of individuals without their written consent and or that of their families
- Where the proposed name is already in existence
